This was one of Good Dog/Bad Dog Creative Design’s (GDBD Design) favorite projects. Located in Ruskin, Backyard Produce was a produce stand aimed at providing customers with the freshest, best tasting fruits and vegetables. They were formed to celebrate the diversity of foods that are produced here in the Tampa Bay area. GDBD helped them come up with their “fresh” looking identity and website used to keep their customers up-to-date with the variety of produce that would sprout up each month.

Unfortunately, running a small business is hard these days and with the early Florida freeze and being faced with other small business challenges they had to shut down their stand on December 31, 2010. However, I spoke with my client today and they’re looking forward to re-grouping and re-opening up the stand sometime in the future.

Please, go out and support local businesses! There are so many hard working business owners who provide, fresh and unique products right outside your backyard. You may not know what you’re missing, so check them out and keep local businesses alive!
