March 15, 2011 – Brush up on your Typography

FontShop Book on Typography

While Facebook is not always the answer, I have been finding lots of design inspiration and information through friend’s posts lately. The image above is a spread from “Meet Your Type; A Field Guide to Typography” found at FontShop.com’s Education section. The book is free to download and print, not only is it informative but humorous! Here is a excerpt from the book, “You may notice that you’re changing. You’re noticing different letterforms. You may feel different around them. Don’t be embarrassed; these feelings are natural.” The book explains nearly every aspect of type: size, weight, baselines, x-height, kearning, etc. I sure wish we had this when I was in school!
