I recently stumbled across a silly but oh-so-true article titled, “50 Reasons Not to Date a Graphic Designer” by a bourbon for silvia. The poster is a rbst remix.

While I do not think that all 50 reasons pertain to me or any one designer I know, Silvia definitely hit some right on the nail. Here are my 10 favorites:

1. They are very weird people.
• 5. They drink and eat all kinds of weird [stuff] just because they like the packaging.
• 7. You’ll come out the last out of the movies because you have to see the full list of credits.
• 9. They [mess] up all the tables with their cutters.
• 12. You never know if it is really an original or a copy.
• 17. They ask your opinion about everything but they do whatever they want.
• 19. They hate Comic Sans with the same passion they love Helvetica.
• 35. They can’t go to a restaurant without secretly critiquing the menu design.
• 42. They have their own shops just for them and there are the most expensive in the city.
• 48. They dream of the day nobody will make a single change to their designs.

However, my special favorite is “45. They see ordinary objects and laugh.” If I had to pick one out of the 50 reasons, this is the one that defines me the best!

I really enjoy the typographic poster rbst created. I think it is great that rbst took into consideration giving credit to silvia, that is very important and it was incorporated into the design in a clean simple way. And of course, the number 51 reason is a classic!
